As the global market leader in environmental protection and safety, Denios SE from Bad Oeynhausen came up with something truly special for its state-of-the-art Hall South, which was completed in 2023. To create a harmonious transition between the hall and the surrounding landscape, a 10-metre-high and 50-metre-wide perforated metal façade was installed, extending around the corner by around 6 metres.
Behind the metal wall, BERgamo RGBW wall washers from Barthelme LED Solutions were installed. They not only bathe the façade in magical light, but also offer a wealth of design possibilities.

EXPRESSION OF LOCAL IDENTITY
The motif of a beech forest for the perforated metal façade was created in the immediate vicinity of Denios’ headquarters in the Wiehen Hills and underlines the company’s strong local roots.
“The idea and implementation originated here at Denios SE,” says project manager Damian Bulka. “We wanted a motif that suits Denios, expresses our connection to nature, and fits perfectly into the surroundings in terms of its proportions. The newly planted trees in front of the hall were intended to harmonise with the trees in the façade and create the impression of a realistic forest for the viewer.”
Fascinating Lighting Dynamics
A total of 86 installed BERgamo RGBW wall washers from Barthelme LED Solutions bring the impressive perforated metal wall to life. With an IP67 protection rating, the wall washers are resistant to the ingress of water and dust, allowing them to withstand even the harshest conditions.
The luminaires are arranged in two rows: one illuminating from top to bottom, the other from bottom to top. This dual arrangement enables fascinating lighting dynamics and highlights the details of the beech forest motif.

The façade lighting is controlled via DMX controllers, enabling precise control of each individual luminaire. Depending on the occasion, millions of colours and various sequences can be selected via a smartphone app.
A particularly impressive feature is the “La Ola wave”, where the light moves along the façade in a gentle wave, creating a fascinating visual spectacle.
