AQUAULUC

Can the AQUALUC RGB be installed in the sauna?
Yes, the maximum ambient temperature is 60 °C.

Can AQUALUC be used in seawater ?
AQUALUC is harmless in seawater; the bracket must be provided by the customer, as at least V4A is required here.

Can AQUALUC be fixed with silicone ?
Safe with neutral cured silicone, but construction adhesive is recommended.

Is AQUALUC resistant to brine water ?
Yes, but not if permanently under water.

What UL94 classification does the AQUALUC have ?
Sheath UL94 V2 and encapsulation UL94 HB.

What is the bending radius of the AQUALUC S:OLID ?
The minimum radius is estimated at 750 mm (unofficial).

What is the width tolerance of the AQUALUC CURVE ?
Width 10-11 mm (see note on data sheet).

What is the temperature range of the AQUALUC S:OLID ?
The AQUALUC S:OLID is suitable for temperatures down to -30°C. Possible fastening problems must be taken into account in the event of excessive contraction.

Can an AQUALUC S:OLID be used in a brine pool with a salt content of 3.5 % ?
Is approved. However, the customer must confirm that he drains the pool once a year.

Can the AQUALUC be cleaned with turpentine ?
The PU potting compound is only partially resistant to turpentine - turpentine is therefore not suitable for cleaning.

Is there a TÜV report for IP68, chlorine resistance for the AQUALUC S:OLID?
A test report is available - the test number can be requested

What is the UV resistance of AQUALUC cables ?
The cables have very good UV resistance, but can yellow after a certain time.

Is AQUALUC resistant to road salt ?
Use is not recommended here, or only recommended to a very limited extent, as the actual salt concentration does not usually remain the same in the long term (defrosting and refreezing => change in concentration). There is currently only 1 test result from a 3-month test with 5% NaCL=>there was no change in the product, but no conclusions can be drawn from this for permanent use.

What about the installation of AQUALUC in salt water (pool) or sea?
No tests were carried out here.

Can AQUALUC S:OLID be used in salt water ?
Up to a maximum of 5% NaCl. When cleaning, please do not simply allow the product to dry, but remove salt water residues first.

LED strips

Is it possible to develop customised LED strips ?
Yes, this is possible - subject to technical feasibility and the order quantity, of course.

What material is the FPC of a Barthelme LED strip made of ?
The FPC consists of polyamide and copper.

What is the current efficiency of LED strips ?
The efficiency is 35 % (65 % heat).

Are the Barthelme LED strips halogen-free ?
Since the Infineon chip (IC) is not halogen-free, the entire strip is considered non-halogen-free.

What is the voltage tolerance of the 48V LED strips ?
The voltage tolerance is 47-49 V DC.

Is a desired wavelength possible for coloured LED strips ?
Yes, a customised wavelength is possible (tolerance ± 10 nm). The MOQ here is 20,000 chips.

Is third-party branding of STANDARD LED strips possible ?
Yes, is possible. MOQ 400 m, delivery time approx. 6 weeks

How does the lumen output change with increased ambient temperature?
Our values are laboratory values at 25°C. If the temperature is increased to e.g. 65°C, the output drops by approx. 10 %.

Profiles

What about the expansion of the profile and cover ?
The materials aluminium and PMMA expand to different degrees when the temperature changes. At a temperature change of 20°C, the difference in expansion can be up to 1.2 mm per metre! This is not a product defect, but a normal physical process.

What are the manufacturing tolerances of the aluminium profiles ?
The aluminium profiles are manufactured in accordance with EN 755-9.

What is the maximum temperature to which a PMMA cover can be exposed ?
PMMA deforms from approx. 100 °C - however, the LED of the luminaire would be destroyed before then.

Is the powder coating UV-resistant ?
All covering powders used are UV-resistant.

What is the UV resistance of BlackLine products ?
Anodising is generally only UV and light stable to a limited extent - depending on the colour. The most stable colours are black and gold.

How high are the cutting tolerances when the profile is cut by Barthelme ?
The cutting tolerances are 1 mm.

Can the Garliano flex be coated ?
Neither anodising nor powder coating makes sense, as the coating would burst when the profile is bent - therefore only raw aluminium.

Can the C4 profiles be coated ?
C4 coating is no longer generally intended - this must be clarified if required. C4 coating has an approx. double coating thickness (this cannot be said exactly, as our coater coats manually). This can lead to problems with the fitting accuracy of the cover. When using magnets for fastening, e.g. Palermo, the groove for inserting the magnet may be too narrow.

Controllers

How are several LED strips or luminaires connected to control units ?
Always parallel.

Which dimming method is used with Barthelme control units and power supply units ?
Pulse width modulation (PWM)

Does Barthelme also offer control units which are connected at the output via COM- ?
No, as with all our LED strips, our control units are switched via COM+.

Where can I find the product file for the Chromoflex-KNX ?
Homepage > Service > Downloads > Software > Chromoflex Pro KNX

What does the error message mean when transferring the KNX application: ‘Programming is not completed’ ?
This indicates that the bus voltage is not sufficient; as a result, the programming runs endlessly.

How high is the standby consumption of the Chromoflex-KNX DIN rail device (66000384) ?
Approx. 0.5 W

What happens to the Chromoflex Casambi (66000465) when I switch off the supply voltage ?
You can set in the app what should happen when the voltage is switched on. Either ‘standard mode’ (desired colour) or ‘previous state’ (last state before voltage loss).

How many Chromoflex Casambi devices (66000465) can be linked in a network ?
Up to 127 participants can be integrated into a network.

Can the output channels of the Chromoflex Casambi (66000465) be bridged, e.g. to be able to operate more power in a tunable white application ?
It is generally not possible to bridge the output channels. With tunable white, only channels 1 and 2 can be used. Therefore max. 192W (at 24V). For 1-channel bands always max. 96W per channel.

Are there any instructions for integrating the Chromoflex Pro devices into the Mediola-Box V4 or V5 ?
There are step-by-step instructions on the Mediola homepage on how Barthelme-compatible devices can be integrated into the Mediola network via the ‘iQontrol app’.

Which command protocol does the Chromoflex DALI DT8 (66000574) use ?
RGBW-af’ and “colour temperature-Tc” are supported. ‘Primary N’ and “xy-coordinate” are not implemented.

Which standard does the Chromoflex DALI DT8 (66000574) fulfil ?
The IEC 62386-209 standard is fulfilled, in particular chapter 4.4.5. All colour values can be mapped in the spanned colour triangle.

Can the output channels of the wireless controller (66000770) be bridged ?
No, is not allowed.

Is there a ‘memory function’ for the radio control (66000770) ?
Yes, the last set value is automatically saved if the supply voltage is lost.

What types of dimming can be used to control the Power Controller (66000057) ?
There are three options: potential-free push-button, potentiometer or via 1-10 V.

What dimming range does the Power Controller (66000057) cover ?
For dimming via push-button: 1 - 100%.

Does the power controller (66000057) have a ‘memory function’ ?
Only when switched off via the push-button. If the power supply is lost, the device loses its dimming level.

Power supplies

Do the power supply units have galvanic isolation ?
In general, all electrical switching power supplies have galvanic isolation.

Are there any solutions for emergency power applications with regard to the power supply unit ?
The power supply unit used is always decisive for emergency power lighting. The basic prerequisite for this is always that the power supply unit can also be operated via direct voltage (DC) on the input side. Further parameters, such as switching times, switch-on currents, etc. can be requested via the standard forms for emergency lighting (e.g. Inotec, CEAG, etc.).
